Scam? Strategy? Hoax? Real?

Posted: January 13, 2011 in Uncategorized

I received this so called notification letter from Reader’s Digest telling me that I am invited to claim this grand prize worth RM200,000 of cash, I’m taking this seriously at first but wait, thinking back this WILL NOT happen all of sudden, since I am not a member of Reader’s Digest, and I’m curious on how did they actually got my name and my home address. Look at the image (the notification letter as mentioned), what do you think after you’ve read? So tempting and persuasive, it does looked exactly like a formal invitation letter.

But, I guess, forget it, because my friend is receiving this thingy as well. False False False thinking. For confirmation I did searched over the website and many of the forums claiming that is their marketing strategy to attract people to join for something. Let see what kind of document will mail to me in the next few days… But I’m not gonna into it unless you mail me the cash first 😛 So, if you are getting this also, go for it or just ignore it, that is up to you…

T-Pain = Throat Pain?

Posted: January 7, 2011 in Uncategorized

I just realized this American singer / rapper has a throat problem. If you ever listen to his songs, he never uses real voice. Some says that the voice is being processed via a software-based pitch correction plug-in for audio named AutoTune, and some pointed that he uses a vocoder / talkbox (a device that makes a human voice sound synthetic, often speak like a robot). Then I shall assume his throat pain that is why he could not sing with real voice and named his stage name as T-PAIN, huhuhuhu :p

Here’s the recent new music video by Pitbull featuring T-Pain and discover then :p

REVIEW: Froyo 2.2 ROM Upgrade

Posted: December 17, 2010 in Uncategorized

I know its little late to have Froyo while Gingerbread is already in the midst of development. No choice but my cellphone just got this system update and got it upgraded last night. There are few major changes and improvements I’ve got after the upgrade I wish to highlight:

Product Manufacturer: HTC

Product Model: Legend

ANDROID FROYO 2.2 REVIEW

1. Wifi Hotspot

Now you may get your laptop, iPod touch, or iPad online via Android Froyo by turning your phone into a portable hotspot. You just need to enable your portable hotspot in the Wireless settings area. Name your access point, optionally assign a WPA2 password, and any Wi-Fi enabled device in the area will be able to see and connect to it. Up to 8 devices can connect to the Froyo access point.

2. Multilingual Keyboard Languages

Multiple languages is being added into the keyboard allowing users to switch between multiple Latin-based input languages, and allowing speech recognition which letting you to convert the spoken speech into words.

3. Improved Speed & Performance

Two aspects: Android apps & Browsers. It speeds up Android apps by 2 to 5x for most of the apps. But in my opinion, 5x that much??? Not that extremely fast but at least better performance than in Eclair. As for browser, is being equipped with a new Javascript Engine named as Google’s V8 which speeds up JavaScript execution time by 2 – 3x.

4. Improved Application Manager

Froyo’s new application manager is enhanced by separating to tabbed interface which lets you see apps by what’s been downloaded, installed, what’s running, and what lives on the SD card.

5. New Android Market

For all the apps you have in your phone, the fact that you had to update apps from the Android Market one by one prior to Froyo was really simply makes life easier which adding a ‘Update All’ button for you.

6. Enhanced Gmail Application

For Gmail user like me, you will like this update. You can now see the labels with colors just like the ordinary Gmail at browser. Updates include the sender name, star, reply, and the more actions buttons. You no longer  have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of an email to reply. You can also tap the “Show quoted text” link to expand the conversation in the same manner you can in the browser.

7. More New Apps

You can see there are new apps installed in Froyo like:

a. Google’s Latitude

b. Places

c. Navigation

d. Flashlight

e. Gallery (Photos in Eclair)

f. Camera? (Came across with some forums saying the camera application is being enhanced with better controls and interface, but I did not receive this update! )

8. Stunning Effect

Better effect for screen transition (similar to iPhone which you can see ‘zoom-in-zoom-out’ effect) instead of slide to left or right in Eclair when you opening / closing an app.

Overall this is a great update I have for now. Sorry lah if I’m outdated and not to blame on me but HTC :p Gingerbread is already here and I just got Froyo. Hmm. Btw, what’s your favorite improvement? Do let me know :p Oh ya, do try this awesome home launcher app – LauncherPro, go get it @ the Market and explore 🙂

Best Curry Puff Ever

Posted: November 29, 2010 in Uncategorized

*Photo taken via Legend.

Best curry puff I’ve tasted ever. Found at the kopitiam in Lintang Kampung Melayu 2, Farlim, Penang. Just right below my house (Desa Mawar). FYI, it cost only RM1.00 per piece and what about the size? Its almost as long as your palm. With only single buck! Not joking. And its fully stuffed with potatoes and chicken meat, smoking hot and mild spicy. Topped with pickled onions, best eating it together! Two bucks will makes your stomach satisfied. Go get one now. Don’t know where’s it? Just tell me :p

New Mall in Town and the 19th Floor

Posted: November 28, 2010 in Uncategorized

Today’s a Sunday yo,  and decided to hang out with friends @ the new mall in town – the 1st Avenue, just right beside Prangin Mall, since there’s an event happening over there. The outer look was kinda gigantic, that gave me a good news at first, just right after exploring the mall, its not that big after all, as you can see the picha below. But it was crowded, that is normal, because new toilet always best for shitting. Just FYI, nothing for you folks to shop yet, I guess its yet to be officially launched, lotsa empty slots.

Alrighty, I guess it has about 8 – 9 floors, but 5th- 7th floor is just for parking exit? LOL. Kinda cool interior anyway.

Speaking of event, it was the Nerf Challenge, Nerf is the official source for Nerf toys, online games, and other fun stuffs. And Fly FM is the official radio station hosting this event, it was Ben from the Pagi Show (above) with Prem from Rush Hour & Hafiz from Fly-Thirty. Uhh they’re awesome. The Nerf challenge is just something like ‘war game’.

Well, Nikkie hasn’t been active for such a long time, I need its engine warmed up. Right after reaching home, decided to head up to the rooftop (19th floor), not exactly the top whereby its locked so I cannot go up. For what? Shooting lah. Some random things and object found at the top floor of the building, feels good.

I squat down.

Astro Satellite Dish found.

NO TRESPASSING found. I want to get in to that small hole but I have no idea to access.

xoxo

Sparkling Lychee and the White Mosquito

Posted: November 26, 2010 in Uncategorized

also equivalent to

Moscato Aspen Estate, an Australian Sparkling Wine.

I gave this a name – sparkling lychee, because it smells exactly like lychee, sweet. But in actual it was made  by grapes of course or puto and it has the aroma of these mentioned fruits as shown above (Dexter, 2010). Taste really good, sweet no bitter. With only 5% alcohol. And my friend named it as White Mosquito because Moscato sounds alike and its in white color. Tasted in The Wine Shop yesterday with friends, it cost MYR84 for drink-in but its okay if you share it with few of your friends, let’s say 4 or 5.  Considering to get one before the price goes up next year !

Event Date: 12 – 14 Nov 2010

Location: Kuala Lumpur

Now I am able to escape from this hectic environment, for a good breathe! Okay, was actually went to Kuala Lumpur with my family and friends for my Adv. Diploma convocation on 13th Nov (last Saturday). Expected to have lesser graduands this time compared to the Bachelors convocation on June 2010 earlier on. Its kinda weird if you go on the stage for twice? I’m one of them.. LOL, just because, the title explains it all. Well appended below are the pictures taken during this two hectic-free days. Days without the need to worry about anything at all 🙂

Well, random pick one of the pictures, about the same for all. Its good to have everyone here again !

Not to forget about this adorable graduation soft toy, thanks to Stafany for that!

Well, we actually went to few places for loitering with family and friends after the ceremony. Its not right if you just lock yourself in the motel room for whole day. Places visited includes Sungei Wang & Times Square, which are the nearest places for us to travel :p Family never visit, so now here they are. And actually took some pichas to share over here as well.

Taken @ entrance / exit of Dang Wangi LRT station. A good angle indeed.

@ the Bukit Nanas monorail station. The railway…

Always packed and hectic – Sungei Wang Plaza.

I let you to figure out this building if you don’t know.

Tired of shopping. Headed to this place for dinner @ Bukit Bintang. More to Chili’s Grill & Bar style. And the food was err.. I rather prefer to dine in chili’s.

Alright. Its in the Steakhouse. After the meal.

@ the Times Square. Met Chong, Wai Haw, Wk & Vincent, they were actually got another outing and took this opportunity for a photo session.

And regarding this photo.. I really do. Do not doubt about it. Got it @ Giordano. End of trip.
